rainbow would be a sign of the covenant.36(g) that the covenant would be eternal .37The word "eternal" has divided meanings as to length of time meant by different scholars. However, the Hebrew word used is very similar to "eternity". These words are described to mean: "ever, everlasting; duration of time that is concealed or hidden; that which is
before; ancient "38

(G) The Abrahamic covenant next appears. "Now the Lord said
to Abram, "Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father's house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the 39 families of the earth shall be blessed." This covenant was made with Abraham after the confusion of languages when God saw that it was impossible to deal with the race as a whole. This period brought in the "Dispensation of Promise". The covenant consisted of two parts:
(1) the 7 fold promise:
(a) "I will make of thee a great nation40(b) "Make thy 41 name great." (c) Thou shalt be a blessing."42
(d) "I will
bless them that bless thee." (e) "I will bless thee"44 (f) "I will curse them that curse thee."45(g) "In thee shall all the nations of the world be blessed." 46

call her son "Ishmael", meaning God shall hear. The promises of this covenant were "a seed to be multiplied beyond number" 5; and Ishamel to be blessed and become a great nation. 52 Also, Ishmael was to beget twelve princes. 53 The prophetic revelations of this covenant stated that Ismael was to be a wild man and his hand was to be against every man against him, and that he was to dwell in the presence of this brethern54

(I) The Sarahic covenant was made by God with Sarah, and it promised certain blessing to her and her offspring for many generations. 55 God commanded Sarah to change her name from "Sarai" to "Sarah", meaning princes s56, and to call her son Isaac 57 God promised to bless her with a son68 and to make her a mother of many kings 59 The Abrahanic covenant was to continue through her son Isaac's seed forever. 6o

(J) A Healing covenant is spoken of. "And He said If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptions; for I, the Lord, am your healer." "But you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst."62This covenant
was made by God with Israel and all who desired or chose to come under it and 63 do that which was right in His sight and give ear to all His commandments and to serve Him and keep 4
His statutes. The promises were, He no diseases on them; He was to be their healer, and if they would get sick, He would take it away 65 as will be shown in a later thesis on N.T. theology, the healing covenant was fulfilled in Jesus Christ who "took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses..66

(K) The Mosaic covenant, which is also called the Old Testament covenant consists of God giving the commandments to Moses on Siani 67 These ten commandments were the "makers instructions. The first four commands concern men's relationship to God, the remaining six then for the whole of life. He sets out standards governing family relationships, regard for human life, sex, property, speech and thought 68 "God made us and He alone can show us how we are designed to behave.
