“The Risen Savior”
There was a great earthquake, and the stone was rolled away from the tomb by an angel sent from Heaven, ( Mat. 28:2-4). The women went to the tomb to anoint the body, early in the morning of the third day. ( Mat. 28:1-7), but when they arrived, Mary getting there first, finds the tomb empty! ( John 20:2). She then tells Peter this story, and he does not believe her. ( John 20: 2; Mark 16:10). Jesus then appears to May Magdalene, ( John 20:11-170, and she goes to the closest village and tells everybody! Jesus then appears to the other women! ( Mat. 28: 8-10). The guards of the tomb are reprimanded by their superiors, and they lie, saying they fell asleep, and someone came and stole the body of Jesus, ( Mat. 28:11-15). On the road to Emmaus, Jesus appears to two more disciples in a form they did not quickly recognize, ( Mark 16:12-13). He then appears to the rest of the disciples, all except Thomas, ( Luke 24:36-48). They tell Thomas about it, but he exclaims unless he sees with his own eyes, he will not believe! Jesus then appears to them again with Thomas present and tells Thomas to stick his fingers in the wounds!
Thomas repents, and believes after seeing Jesus, and Jesus says that all future people who believe in Him without seeing, and accept Him by faith will be blessed. Jesus then appeared to the eleven disciples on a mountain in Galilee, and told them to go out baptizing in the Name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost, teaching them to do all that Jesus said, ( Mat. 28:16-20). The miraculous netting of the large catch if fish is recorded in John 21:6). Jesus then appeared to 500 people at one time! ( I Co. 15:6). He also appeared to James! ( I Cor. 15:7). The last appearance of Jesus to His disciples was just before He ascended to Heaven. It is recorded in Luke 24:50-53, “and He led them out as to Bethany, and He lifted up His hands, and blessed them, and it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried into Heaven, and they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy; and were continually in the temple praising and blessing the Lord.”
Blessings!
